MSU History Masters Students placed First, Second and Third in the oral competition section of the Annual MSU Graduate Research Symposium.
Jordan Wesley's paper, “To Be Womanly Always, Discouraged Never: The role of southern sororities in American containment culture,” captured first prize. Kayla Jordan's “More than ectoplasm: A study of Civil War memory and Southern ghostlore," finished second and Kendall Comish, “Fighting AIDS Patients: How NIMBY-ism/urban revanchism was used to fight against a Mississippi AIDS boarding house,” took third.
