Kathleen Sullivan-Thomas
Kathleen Sullivan-Thomas is a doctoral candidate whose work focuses on the emergence of eastern equine encephalitis in mid-twentieth-century America. Her current project examines how the epizootic disease came into public and scientific consciousness and the efforts made to confront, control, and eradicate the disease. Sullivan-Thomas’s work examines the intersections between wildlife, veterinary medicine, and public health during the professionalization of veterinary medicine and the ascendency of the American environmental movement.
